Sunday Eucharistic celebration is the highlight of the week at our parish. The Catholic Church describes the Celebration of Mass as "the source and summit of the Christian life." It is the source, in that everything we do as Christians is strengthened and reaffirmed at the Eucharistic banquet.
.
It is the summit, in that it is the highest and greatest access to God through His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, it is so important that we understand all the meaning of the celebration.
.
The Mass, Eucharistic celebration is the only place on earth that represents, that we can participate, the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This event is the focal point of all history, the most important event in eternity, and we are invited to participate. With a greater understanding we realize that we are not spectators. We are invited by Jesus Christ, to participate in this supreme act of love, this heavenly liturgy.
.
At the end of Mass, the celebrant sends us out into the world to live the Gospel and, essentially, to fulfill the great commission. The church help us integrate the Mass with a clear call to respond how each parishioner can take what they experienced and received at Mass, and bring it to the places where they live and work.
